The Turner Trophy (President’s Trophy) for Most Improved Adult went to Nigel Blight.

Forest Fencers Head for Nationals

Arnie Seal qualifies for the BYC'sFollowing the Southern Region Fencing age group competitions at Reading last weekend, more of our junior fencers are heading for the British Youth Championships (BYC’s) in Sheffield this May.

Juniors from Sway Fencing travelled to Newbury for the Hampshire Age Group Foil competition hosted by Cheam School.

In only their second competitive outing, Will Prendergast and Arnie Seal took on the county’s more seasoned junior fencers in the Under-14 and Under-12 classes. Despite foil being the second weapon for both boys, they put up a lively fight against completely unknown opposition. Seal demonstrated a mature attitude in summing up their approach to the day saying, “if you win, you win, if you lose you lose – it’s a learning experience.” Seal finished eighth in the largest entry of the day.
